LTISD to raise another $quarter billion bond

 

The LTISD Board has approved placing a Bond for $253 million in front of loacl residents in a November Election vote. The ISD states that the bond will have no impact on property taxes.

Backyard breaks ground without access to 71

The "New" Backyard developers broke ground on June 24th on the Data Center version of the project headed by Chris Milam and team. The original plans for a movie studio complex have been changed but the hotel and music venu remain for the land off Bee Cave Parkway.

 

The whole project is currently not going to be granted a Certificate of Occupancy however - as Bee Cave City Council insisted that the development could not open without a second access point onto Highway 71 - access to which te developers haave yet to secure.

Art exhibit at Library

The Lake Travis Community Library will display Painted Threads, the fiber artwork of Sherri Lipman McCauley, during the month of July. A Lakeway resident for over twenty years, McCauley considers herself a fiber artist, working with art quilts, collage, and surface design.

Mayor takes to social media to fight recall petition

Beleagured Lakeway Mayor Joe Bain took to his blog to defend himself against the campaign to recall him for using fake IDs on social media in an alleged attempt to influence the May elections.

HCG July 4 concert and fireworks

July 4th at the HCG
 
The Austin and Bee Cave communities are invited to celebrate America’s freedom at Hill Country Galleria’s annual Independence Day Celebration. The free admission event includes live music by local bands The Watters and Vallejo, face painting and more for the kids, an all-day sidewalk sale presented by Hill Country Galleria retailers, along with the “best fireworks show in Central Texas” to end the evening. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets and enjoy live music beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the newly renovated Central Plaza. Parking for the event is free.
